Set Apart by Grace is a blog that I use to journal my thoughts and ideas. It's a means of searching my own heart through writing and seeing God work as He changes my heart.

My Friends
A few months ago I saw a man sitting in front of Burger King holding a sign that said "homeless." I drove by, turned at the next light, went another mile, and for some reason turned my car around in the middle of a busy street and drove back to where he was sitting. I parked my car a little distance away from where he was sitting and I approached him not knowing what I was going to say or do. I just wanted to follow what the Lord had planned. I approached him and asked if I could buy him some food from Burger King and he said "sure." As we entered, I told him to order whatever he wanted and he proceeded to ask me "are you sure?" I said "yeah," no problem. He orders three number ones and tells me it's for his wife and step-daughter. We leave the place and I ask him where he lives and he states that he lives in a tent behind K-Mart Shopping Center. I asked him if I could drive him back to his tent and meet everyone in which agreed. The rest is history. Dave and I have become pretty good friends. I got to meet Nicole, Early, Donnie, and Billy. Just the other night I was able to drop off a winter coat to Billy. He wrapped himself up in it and said "now it's time to get warm!" What a blessing it is from God to be able to demonstrate the love of Christ to those in need. I am truly blessed, and grateful that His Spirit spoke to me as I drove by Dave that first day and I was obedient to His command. I'm glad to know Dave and he blesses my life because now he is a part of my family.
