Outreach Teams That Win

The "G" team meets on the first Monday of the month hence the letter "G." GROW is an acronym that stands for God Rewards Our Work and is based on a principle of sowing and reaping. At Enon Chapel Baptist Church we have 4 teams that meet every Monday night for outreach. If a 5th Monday occurs in a month, our Pastor will decide what would be appropriate for that meeting. Sometimes we have a big celebration where all the teams will gather, and on other occasions we will press ahead with a huge frontal attack and all teams go out to the ends of our community "sowing and reaping." I have been involved with several outreach programs in the past, but this principle of "sowing and reaping" works. A simple understanding of a basic farming principle is all you need. If you never put a seed in the ground you will never see anything grow. It's a pretty simple concept. This same concept can be applied to our witnessing efforts. The main focus of the GROW Teams is telling people about Jesus Christ and how to have a saving relationship with Him. It's not a marketing tool to get more members to attend church. It's about sharing your faith. It's about life and death. It's not easy or everyone would do it is a common saying we have heard before but it's true. Sharing your faith is difficult, it makes some of us uneasy and break out in cold sweats. Satan and his angels will do everything to discourage you from being a part of this important ministry. He will use tactics that are dirty and uncalled for. He will confuse you into thinking that you aren't good enough, or that you don't have that spiritual gift. GROW teams have something for everyone. We encourage others by writing cards and letters, we call folks to let them know we love them, we pray over prayer requests that we have received during the week. There is something for everyone. So if you'd like to find out more, visit our G team on the first Monday of the month.
