True Friendship

In today's society people are apt to keep to themselves. Technology has made this quite easy with the world wide web, facebook, twitter, and a host of other social websites. It seems everyone has a facebook account and this is where people tend to stay in touch or hide. I remember not so long ago people actually got together and had real discussions about world events. When someone needed encouragement they called their friends and spoke over the phone. Now a days, people just vent their feelings on a social network and hope they receive some sort of feedback. We always hope someone will "like" our comment, and when they don't or we don't receive any feedback, we feel discouraged and all alone. We tend to technomop about until someone sends us a direct message asking where we've been. Sometimes we even go to the extreme and quit facebook for a day or two. But like we all things we eventually come back to those things that bring us comfort. It's easy to vent over the Internet and it's getting easier to stay outta touch. Unless of course you tend to stir the pot and get people all riled up. It seems there are plenty of those folks around who seem to thrive off of people's feedback. I'll stick to the ole phone call and reach out like Ma Bell used to encourage us in those old commercials. I like hearing someone on the other side instead of filtering their feelings through the Internet.
