Set Apart by Grace is a blog that I use to journal my thoughts and ideas. It's a means of searching my own heart through writing and seeing God work as He changes my heart.

Luke
Just a few minutes ago our daughter Megan and her husband Jason dropped off our grandson Luke. They are going off on a weekend getaway with our Pastor and friend Jim Kelley and his family. Luke will soon turn 4 months old. Sherree and I are excited about this first sleepover but at the same time we are treading on water that hasn't been walked on in 23 years. Changing diapers, getting milk ready, listening for that cry in the middle of the night will be exciting and challenging as grandparents. By the way Luke calls me "Pappy", well not actually yet, but when he can speak, hopefully he will. Luke has brought me much joy in happiness in his short life, but better yet God has given me a second chance as a Pappy. Even though Luke will go home in a few days I have a great opportunity to tell him all about Jesus, to read to him about this man who changed the world and changed my life. I pray for Luke, that God will shape his heart, into a heart of compassion for the lost, a desire to help the weak and those who are less fortunate. I thank God for Luke, but most of all I thank God for his mom and dad who follow His teachings and will raise him up in a way that points to the truth...
