Set Apart by Grace is a blog that I use to journal my thoughts and ideas. It's a means of searching my own heart through writing and seeing God work as He changes my heart.

Focused Daily Communion with God
I heard a sermon this morning about the four essentials of finishing well. The speaker made a comment on how we must focus our attention on God each day. At first I thought I was going to hear another sermon on daily quiet times, but this guy made a lot of sense. If we are going to finish the race, we must spend quality time each day communicating with God. As we open His Word, we must ask God to illuminate His Word, teach us from it, and then we respond to Him in prayer. We just can't open the Bible, close our eyes and pick a book to read from. We must have a plan of action, where and what purpose we are reading that portion of scripture. Made a lot of sense to me, because I do want to finish the race well; not just finish, but to finish well.
