Deployed Once Again

Our son Zachary is getting ready for his third deployment. This time he is headed for "who knows where". The Air Force is the subject matter expert when it comes to fire fighting. Zack has been selected to deploy to Afghanistan and inspect all the contracted fire stations within his scope of work. Now Zack is the ultimate firefighter. He was born to do what he does. He is ate up with the Air Force. When he was born, he was wearing blue. Seriously, Zack is by all intent a "lifer." But with all things come hazards, and with this latest deployment overseas Zack will be traveling a great deal. As with all travel overseas you are at risk for the deadly IEDs that cause so much havoc to our forces overseas. All it takes is a quick visit to our wounded warrior battalion at Camp Lejeune and most of, if not all injuries have been caused by IEDs. I pray for Zack's safety while deployed overseas, I pray for Carissa his wife who will stay behind taking care of things while Zack takes care of business and makes sure that all the contracted fire stations are doing what they are paid to do. I am so proud of Zack and the way he has responded to the multiple deployments and his commitment to the Air Force. Any youngster who is anticipating joining the Armed Services can take a lesson from Zack. Stay in school, work hard, don't bend from peer pressure and be the man God intended for you to be and you will succeed. Zack is the ultimate Patriot.
