Set Apart by Grace is a blog that I use to journal my thoughts and ideas. It's a means of searching my own heart through writing and seeing God work as He changes my heart.

A Fresh Coat of Paint
The 1st of May is always a special date for me. When May arrives it reminds me of the ocean and long walks with my wife Sherree, both of us enjoy the warm breeze and the smell of the ocean. The azaleas in the front yard have bloomed and the grass has received it's first grooming. Everything seems fresh and new. This year I even gave the porch a fresh coat of white paint. Recently I have been thinking about my relationship with God and how much I need a new coat of paint. Only by His grace a new coat of paint isn't needed because my sins were covered once for all (1 Peter 3:18). What I really need is quiet instead of being so busy. I have to be careful because ministry can become busy work. I have to choose wisely how I invest my time. A recent post on another blog, the author hoped that his time would not be wasted with another meeting. I think that is wise advise. I need to be careful of being sucked into things that don't count or seem to be going nowhere. Just like a quiet walk on the beach, I need to get alone with God and reflect on His greatness and His love for me. To meditate on His Word and let it change me from the inside out. I do need to take time....
